AG’s standard grade of Silicone Bonded Mica (SBIM-M) is a specialised, rigid, high temperature insulation material manufactured from muscovite mica laminations which are bound with a silicone resin. The result is a mechanically strong material utilised in applications where continuous temperatures range as high as 500ºC, or in short term environments of 600ºC. Exhibiting excellent dielectric and tensile strength, this silver/grey material also offers low thermal conductivity, excellent chemical resistance and is non-flammable. The many performance capabilities of this unique product has led to it being utilised in a wide range of different applications, including; heat shields, corona protection barriers, arc shields, stand-off & brake grid insulators and thermal and electrical barriers.
